Stage is set for Researchers’ Grand Prix Final in Stockholm

On 26 November, its time for the national final of the 2015 Researchers’ Grand Prix, in which researchers are challenged to give the most captivating, inspiring and educational presentation of their research – in just four minutes. Eight regional finalists will be stepping on to the stage in front of a live audience in Stockholm to compete for the title of Sweden’s best science communicator.

The audience together with an expert jury consisting of representatives from the media, academia and performing arts will decide the winner. Members of the public are invited to come along to this free event and vote for their favourite. The finalists will be presenting a range of exciting research topics ranging from dissolving metal that can be used to heal bones to the use of song in dementia care.

The 2015 finalists are:

  • Blekinge – Johanna Tell
  • Borås – Sunil Kumar Ramamoorthy
  • Eskilstuna/Västerås – Lena Marmstål Hammar
  • Lund – Tuva Richert
  • Malmö – Silvia Galli
  • Stockholm – Oskar Lundberg
  • Trollhättan – Sabina Kapetanovic
  • Växjö – Fredrik Ahlgren

The eight finalists are all winners of regional heats held in eight cities around Sweden during Researchers’ Night in September and in October. Read more about the 2015 finalists here.

Members of the public are invited to register to attend the final being held on 26 November 2 -4pm at the venue Nalen, Regeringsgatan 74, Stockholm.
