The Engage Festival 2020 is an online extravaganza that will take place from Monday 30 November to Friday 4 December. Organised by the National Co-ordinating Centre for Public Engagement in the UK, its annual conference provides an opportunity for all those interested in public engagement in higher education to come together, to be inspired, challenged and refreshed. This year, the conference is being held in a digital format and offers talks, workshops and networking opportunities.

VA (Public & Science) will be sharing experiences from our citizen science projects in a session on:

Story Store Live: Engaged Practice on Wednesday 2 December at 10:00-11:00 GMT

Participants:

  • Finn Strivens, Imperial College London – Talk across Time
  • Helen Garrison, VA (Public and Science) – Creating dialogue and engagement through citizen science
  • Malcolm Hamilton, Play:Disrupt – Aeroplanes, battleships and brain games – playful methods to break down barriers in engagement
  • Minne Huysmans, Vrije Universiteit Brussel – Learning from the city

Public dialogues: A valuable tool for HEI? on Tuesday 1 December at 15:00 – 16:00 GMT

Experiences from conducting public dialogues as part of the EU ORION – Open Science project will also be presented by ORION partner Emma Martinez-Sanchez from The Babraham Institute.

The programme is the ultimate in tailorable experiences, with delegates being able to develop their own programme that fits their interests and their availability. Download the whole programme and read more about the Engage Festival, including details of how to book the Engage Full Week Pass.
