The EUSEA (European Science Engagement Association) annual conference invites public engagement specialists and science communication experts from around the world to two days full of discussions, debates, talks, sessions and workshops.

VA’s Lena Söderström will be running a workshop at the conference on how to design engaging transdisciplinary public engagement activities:

The world is not divided in academic fields, and science communication activities should reflect this. But how do we design engaging and fun activities involving STEM as well as arts, social sciences, humanities and other research areas? This workshop will begin with presentations of a few activities serving as an inspiration and continue with a workshop in small groups, with the goal to create new activities that explains every-day phenomena and contemporary societal challenges from more than one perspective. VA (Public & Science) will present examples from European Researchers’ Night in Sweden and our Swedish Citizen Science project the Mass Experiments. We will also involve Aisling Murray and her colleagues at Science Gallery in Dublin, as well as Leonardo Alfonsi at Psiquadro in Italy.
