What’s next for SwafS in Europe? Report on Brussels event

Integrate RRI as a cross-cutting issue in the EU framework programme for R&I. Use the SwafS programme to advance EU’s Open Science agenda! These were some of the suggestions raised during an evening discussion held on 15 November 2016 in Brussels organised by SiS.net, the network of National Contact Points for the SwafS programme and the Swedish national advocacy platform on Swafs.

VA’s views on Horizon 2020 and funding post-2020

Do more to address citizens’ needs and involve them in the research and innovation process. Include the humanities and social sciences more in Horizon 2020 calls. These are two of the recommendations put forward by VA (Public & Science) in response to the European Commission’s public stakeholder consultation, which forms part of the interim evaluation of Horizon 2020. Responses to the questionnaire will help the Commission improve its implementation of H2020 and inform EU research and innovation funding post-2020.

VA’s response to public consultation on the interim evaluation of Horizon 2020

Between October 2016 and January 2017, the European Commission ran a public stakeholder consultation in the context of the interim evaluation of Horizon 2020 in the form of a questionnaire. The aim is to improve the implementation of Horizon 2020 and set the scene for the future discussions on the next EU research and innovation funding post-2020. Here is VA’s completed questionnaire.

800 deltagare, 450 verktyg, 18 språk: En ny verktygslåda för att stödja ansvarsfull forskning och innovation – RRI

Den nya versionen av verktygslådan för ansvarsfull forskning och innovation (Responsible Research and Innovation, RRI) har nu publicerats. Mer än 800 personer och institutioner runt om i Europa använder redan verktygen. Den öppna webbplattformen har utvecklats av EU-projektet RRI Tools för att hjälpa europeiska aktörer inom forskning och innovation att arbeta på ett mer socialt, etiskt och hållbart sätt – något som numera är ett krav i många utlysningar om forskningsmedel.

800 people, 450 tools, 18 languages: A new collaborative toolkit to support responsible research and innovation

The new version of the Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) Toolkit www.rri-tools.eu has now been released, supported by a community of more than 800 individuals and institutions from all over Europe. This open online platform was launched by the European RRI Tools project to help research and innovation actors across Europe work in a more social, ethical, and sustainable way, a requisite in many European funding calls.
